Emotiv EPOC Brain Activity Map

This application displays a real-time map of your mental activity in four significant brainwave frequency bands. Adjustable gain allows you to see detailed information and relative strengths between different brain regions. Adjustable buffer size allows you to see instant responses or average activity over longer periods.

Delta (0.5-4Hz)
- indicating deep sleep, restfulness, and conversely excitement or agitation when delta waves are suppressed

Theta (4-8Hz) - indicating deep meditative states, daydreaming and automatic tasks

Alpha (8-15Hz) - indicating relaxed alertness, restful and meditative states

Beta (15-30Hz) - indicating wakefulness, alertness, mental engagement and conscious processing of information.

Compatible with the Emotiv EPOC consumer headset and SDK developer and research headsets.

Are their any white pages or statistical studies featuring Emotiv?

I posted a question concerning the gain settings that went unanswered. I noticed theta is also very prevalent in my normal activity. I have been doing this to try to get the best representation of brain activity, in essence I have made the buffer setting as high as possbile (which seems to slow the reaction of the mapping this may not be good idea) then I turn gain all the way down then up on each channel until activity is generally just across the spectrum rather than all red or all blue. Delta is almost always blue so I do not try to turn this up until I am seeing the full spectrum.

What is the best strategy for getting an accurate representation of the activity.

im interested in neurofeedback training ,eeg data .and mirroring abilities.also would like a extra set of pads for headset. i wonder if conductive paste would work ?ive seen a few different types.cadwell labs has has these and im thinking they would work .

It would be nice if future editions of The Brain Activity Map would allow the user to select 4-6-8-10-12 heads to view and the ability to select the range of frequency that those heads would represent. It should also have the ability to record that session for later review plus remember the program frequency settings.

This is a question for the whole developer community! What do people want to see? The Brain Activity Map can be used as a neurofeedback system, although it's a bit restricted.
