Board of Directors

John Murray, Director
John Murray is the cofounder of Technology Venture Partner (TVP), one of 1997's largest technology funds in Australia. Prior to TVP, he was the founding executive of the Australian Technology Group (ATG), which is responsible for IT&C-related venture capital investments. John was also responsible for establishing Bank of America's Asian venture capital business in Hong Kong.

John has also worked in corporate finance and investment banking (with Bank of America UK and Hong Kong), and he spent several years at major accounting firms in both Australia and the UK. He's held various general management positions within the UK IT&C services company, and has played an active role in TVP portfolio companies Cap-XX, ManageSoft, and Viator.

John has a honors degree in Law, and he is a Member of Scotland's Institute of Chartered Accountants. He was an expert panel member for the Cooperative Research Centre 2002 Selection Round. He has also been a Chairman and Council Member of the Australian Venture Capital Association (AVCAL).

Jonathan Dimitry, Director
Jonathan Dimitry is the founder of Epicure Capital Partners, an investor in Emotiv Systems. Currently, Jonathan works for The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. in a proprietary investment division. Prior to commencing his career in investment banking, Jonathan worked for a leading Australian law firm, Corrs Chambers Westgarth, as a law clerk in commercial litigation and corporate law.

In 2004, Jonathan joined Goldman Sachs JBWere's Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities division where he advised clients on financing opportunities regarding mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, balance sheet optimisation, structured finance and undertook principal investments on the firm's behalf.

In 2007, Jonathan moved to Goldman Sachs' Singapore office to assume his current proprietary investment role in the firm's commodities business, J. Aron & Company.

Jonathan holds degrees in Commerce (Finance) and Law from the University of New South Wales and was a member of the Faculty Board of Law at the University of New South Wales.

Tan Le, Director and President
Tan Le is a technology entrepreneur. Before she joined Emotiv, Tan cofounded and ran SASme, a pioneer in providing SMPP platforms to telecommunication carriers and content aggregators, and one of the companies responsible for the creation of Australia's SMS application market. Tan helped grow SASme from its humble beginnings to a thriving company with thirty-five employees and multiple locations worldwide. Tan has also worked with one of Australia's leading law firms, Freehills.

In 1998, Tan was named Young Australian of the Year (the most prestigious prize for an Australian) and voted one of Australia's 30 Most Successful Women Under 30. At the age of twenty-one, Tan graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws (with Honors) from Monash University.

Tan was a Special Visitor to the United Kingdom as a guest of the British High Commission and Foreign Commonwealth Office, a Goodwill Ambassador for Australia in Asia, and a Patron of the Australian Youth Ambassadors for Development Program. Tan has been an Ambassador for the Status of Women since 2001, and she's also been appointed to a number of prominent Boards, including Plan International Australia, Australian Citizenship Council, National Committee for Human Rights Education in Australia, and RMIT Business in Entrepreneurship.

Nam Do, Cofounder and CEO
Nam Do is a technology entrepreneur. Prior to forming Emotiv, Nam cofounded and ran SASme, a pioneer in providing SMPP platforms to telecommunication carriers and content aggregators, and one of the companies responsible for the creation of Australia's SMS application market. He helped grow SASme from its humble beginnings to a thriving company with thirty-five employees and multiple locations worldwide.

Nam's background is in Strategic Planning and Management, and he is also an expert in Information Technology and Multimedia. At the age of nine, Nam was selected to join a special program in Mathematics and Physics at the National School for Gifted Students in Vietnam. In 1995, Nam won one of Vietnam's most prestigious scholarships for study abroad. In 1996, Nam came to Australia's RMIT University under a scholarship program for students with exceptional academic ability and leadership potential.

Nam was featured in SmartCompany’s list of Australia’s Top 10 digital entrepreneurs in 2007.
