EEG Biosignal interpretation

EEG Biosignal interpretation usability research eeg interpretation in forum Technical/Software Support.
Hello,
maybe it is a very basic question, already answered.
I don't expect to know the algorithm but how do emotiv evaluate interest, engagement etc.. does it use, for example, brain frontal asymmetry à la Davidson?
Frontal/ temporal theta for memory encoding evaluation?
Do you evaluate facial EMG (ie. zygomaticus / corrugator) activity? or eyes movement?
I'm working in the usability - user experience field with EEG/ GSR and Bioera software, but EMOTIV seems to be a great instrument I'd like to try,I'd just like to know if your standard measures are enough or I need an extensive work on signal analysis
thank you for any reply
Giancarlo

Control panel crashes when device connected

Control panel crashes when device connected The control panel crashes when the device (USB key) is connected and not logged as admin in forum Technical/Software Support.
Hi,

I tried the Emotiv headset today and find it quite impressive, thanks for this work.

However I still have a problem and would like to get ride of it. I first tried to use the control panel without the device plugged (no USB key inserted). Everything worked perfectly. Than I quit the program put the key in, turn on the device (everything ok, light changes) and run the panel but this time it crashes (usual EmotivControlPanel.exe has stopped working). The same if I insert the key while to program is running.

After several test I observed the following things which is even more confusing:
- the test bench program works in any condition;
- the control panel works with the device only if I am logged as an admin (and I am not supposed to be...)

I am running:
- Windows Vista,
- Thinkpad lenovo laptop.

The error report is:
Problem signature:
Problem Event Name:	BEX
Application Name:	EmotivControlPanel.exe
Application Version:	0.0.0.0
Application Timestamp:	4b7ca2ce
Fault Module Name:	MSVCR80.dll
Fault Module Version:	8.0.50727.4053
Fault Module Timestamp:	4a594c79
Exception Offset:	0000ed53
Exception Code:	c000000d
Exception Dat a:	00000000
OS Version:	6.0.6001.2.1.0.256.4
Locale ID:	1035
Additional Information 1:	a388
Additional Information 2:	cb1346f285b14b60ce06bcb7640ef607
Additional Information 3:	d90f
Additional Information 4:	06582bdb600f552cdb6e2ca1909ba6fb

Any idea to solve this issue ?

Thanks.
Hello,
I would like to be able to have both, a Developer's headset and an ability to code against your APIs PLUS all capabilities of the Research Version.

Please advise on the proper licensing/product choice.
It appears that I'd have to buy the Developer Edition and then the 250$ upgrade to the Research Edition. Please confirm that it will allow me to utilize both versions.

Also, I would iike to have a confirmation that SDK has C# APIs and that I won't have to use unmanaged C++ code. Also.. which .NET Framework will it work with?

P.S. You do ship to Canada, is it correct?

Thank you,
Tatiana

thoughts after 1st time usage

thoughts after 1st time usage in forum Feedback & Ideas.
First off, congratulations on the installation, worked flawlessly. For the sensors it took me awhile to figure out that they had to all be twisted fairly hard (used small needle-nose) in the applicator pack. After that, I no longer had the problem with 6 of them dropping off when I would remove the headset. (had to remember to feel the snap in putting them on the headset). I would include that in the directions.

Secondly I was surprised at how easy it was to get the green signal for the sensors having made contact. I was definitely expecting it to be more difficult than it was. Its incredibly dry here so sensors started losing contact after 30 minutes or so, but that is no doubt adjustable by the initial wetness. I also own the Neurosky, but wanted a multichannel device for measuring neuro-synchronicity. I love the lite weight & minimalist design of this.

All in all I am feeling very happy with this purchase. :)

Payment Received????

Payment Received???? waiting... in forum Shipping & Deliveries.
Hi Emotiv...
I'm sure you've all got a lot on your plates but I'm getting frustrated with getting no responses to my support querys as to whether or not my money (check) has even arrived there or not.

In the first place the order system is very unusual in that the "support ticket" process seems like bad code. IMHO it should be reworked and a standard shopping cart solution implemented. Use support for support. The support thing will not scale and someday (soon) you will want that scaleability.

So has my check arrived yet? Will my 2 weeks wait time clock be started sometime soon?

thanks for the gripe time.

Cheers,

Tom Moylan
