Unboxing your MN8
Remove the sleeve from the box. When you open the box, you will find the following:
MN8 Earbuds
MN8 Travel Case
Sensors & Earbuds Pack
USB-C Charging Cable
Bluetooth Dongle
Two earbud sizes
Two sensors types
Sensors removal tool
STEP 1
Installing the sensors
The MN8 features brush sensors for improved comfort and contact with your ears. If your device includes sensor placeholders, remove and replace them with the brush sensors provided in the box. If your device does not include sensor placeholders, simply locate the brush sensors in the box and install them before use. The brush sensors are essential for the MN8 to function properly.
Insert the tip of the sensor placeholder removal tool into the small round opening at the end of the ear hook. Then, push up gently until you hear a click.
Push the placeholders up to remove them.
Insert the new sensors ensuring that they’re both facing down.
Push the sensor pad back into the ear hook. You should hear it click.
STEP 2
Charging your MN8
MN8 is charged and tested before shipping — so you can start using it straight away.
To charge MN8, do the following:
- Connect MN8 to a power outlet using the charging cable (provided) and a USB power adaptor (not supplied).
- MN8 can take up to two hours to fully charge.
- When MN8 is charging, the LED will turn red. When MN8 is fully charged, the LED will turn green.
Charging tips
- To maximize the use of MN8, we recommend that you fully charge it before use.
- If the LED does not flash when you press the power button, your MN8 requires charging.
- MN8 will not turn on when charging; this is a safety feature to prevent electrocution.
- Do not charge MN8 when it is in use.
STEP 3
Turning your MN8 on or off
Turn MN8 on
To turn MN8 on, press and hold the power button for two seconds. The LED will flash, and you’ll hear an audio prompt saying ‘power on.’
Turn MN8 off
To turn MN8 off, press and hold the power button for five seconds. You’ll hear an audio prompt saying ‘power off’ and the LED will turn off.
STEP 4
Fitting MN8
Your MN8 should fit comfortably. It has adjustable ear hooks, interchangeable sensors, and different size earbud tips to ensure you find a comfortable fit.
Place your MN8 over your neck with the pod resting against your shoulders.
Take the left-hand pod and feed the ear hook over your ear.
Push the eartips into your ear canal and make sure that it fits comfortably, but snuggly. Both bumps in the earhook should be touching the back of your ear. Repeat for your right ear.
Repeat steps 2 and 3 for your right ear.
STEP 5
Changing the ear tips
MN8 is shipped with medium ear tips fitted. You can find two additional sizes in the Sensors & Earbuds pack.
To change the ear tips:
- Remove the fitted ear tips by pulling them off the metal canal sensors.
- Once removed, you can fit the new ear tips by pushing them onto the metal canal sensors.
Due to the sensitive nature of EEG recordings, the earbuds should fit very snugly in your ears (no gaps). If in doubt, size up.
STEP 6
Adjusting the ear hook
If you feel like the ear hooks are too tight or too loose around your ear, they can be adjusted by gently squeezing or pulling. Do not apply too much force, which could break the ear hook.
